Wow Stacy, I wonder how far this community is from the SOLT Mission at Benque Viejo del Carmen. I had hoped my family would have been missioned there a dozen years ago. That is some great job of reporting. Thank you!
We drove around a lot and saw a "RC School" in just about every little community. The children (looked like K-12) were all in very nice uniforms. In Hopkins (nearest town to the farm) there was a parish named Holy Family (https://holyfamilychurchbelize.org/) that also ran the school. We attended Sunday and Ash Wednesday Mass there. It is an open-air building. If you looked to the left, you saw the Caribbean. The parish was on the beach about 100 yards from the water. There was no priest in residence, but one from a nearby larger town came for the Masses. Almost everyone in attendance was female or a child and the building was full. Very few men at Mass. But there were men working everywhere (fishing, building, roads, livestock, farming). The Garifuna tradition is strong. Even the missals were in English, Latin, and Garifuna.
OMGosh what a sublime experience; beautiful, detailed and insightful narration, thanks Stacy!

I'm curious to learn of your experiences, if any, with the Catholic community on Belize.

I added a photo of the church in the post.
Now I want to go to Belize! Looks wonderful!
I fell in love with the country. So stress free.
